Girls Compulsory Team

At Greater Buffalo Gymnastics & Fitness Center we train three separate levels of USAG Compulsory girl's gymnasts, Level 3, Level 4, and Level 5. The girls program gets more difficult as you progress but the rate at which it does makes it very easy to advance to the next level.

Level 3

The New York State USAG Level 3 Competitive Program is our gymnasts first introduction to competition. The girls work on refining the basic skills of girl's gymnastics learned in the developmental program, but also work on harder skills in order to progress to Level 4.

Because Level 3 is an individual achievement program, the Gymnasts are organized by teams and not by age groupings for local and sectional competitions.

Level 4 gymnasts may move to Level 5 once they successfully achieve 75% proficiency on the sequence at each level, 100% flexibility and pass 5 out of the 6 conditioning exercises. A gymnast may test more than one level at a time.

Level 4

The New York State USAG Level 4 Competitive Program is our gymnasts beginner level of compulsory competition. At Level 4 we conduct individual and all around competitions by NYS age divisions. This competitive format is followed by all the other USAG levels.

Level 4 girls train a multitude of skills that they will need for advancement not only to Level 5 but to the optional levels as well. The Level 4 routines are slightly more difficult than the Level 3 ones, adding more transitional skills in with the basic ones.

To go from Level 4 to Level 5, the gymnast must score a minimum All Around score once in any sanctioned NYS USAG competition. Gymnasts cannot move to the next level of competition until this score is achieved. A gymnast may move to the next competitive level without participating in a State Championship, but may not skip any of the competitive levels.

Level 5

The last compulsory level is Level 5. The New York State USAG Level 5 Competitive Program is our gymnasts intermediate level of compulsory competition. Level 5 gymnasts are expected to have the basic and transitional skills developed, so that the transition from the compulsory to optional team is a smooth one.

To go from Level 5 to Level 6, the gymnast must score a minimum All Around score once in any sanctioned NYS USAG competition. Gymnasts cannot move to the next level of competition until this score is achieved. A gymnast may move to the next competitive level without participating in a State Championship, but may not skip any of the competitive levels.
